on fighting dengue, Day 1

We were just so busy with the coming of a new baby in the family, my sister gave birth thru CS operation just a week ago to a healthy boy.. Ofcourse, the whole family were excited since it was almost 4 years since we had a newborn in the family (sisters house was beside our ancestral home), so upon waking up, me & daughter hurriedly went to their house .. That was on a Sunday morning, October 4.. Mom just arrived from the market , when suddenly she called me and asked me to look for medicine as she said Dad was having a fever. After giving Dad 2 tablets of paracetamol i went back to sisters house to play with the baby.. When again mom called... mom, was always the nervous type.. she would always worry over anything... so i neglected her for a while, but then she called my name LOUDER.. i had to come over and check what was happening, she told me that dad was so hot (literally burning with fever) so i checked with the thermometer and whala.. it read 39.9.. i told her not to worry and wait a while for the medicines to take effect since the medicines would eventually start to lessen the fever.. after a hour i checked again dad's temperature... still it was 39.9, i didn't want mom to worry much so i told her that the medicines would usually take effect after another hour... so we took our lunch and mom fed dad and after a while she asked me to check again the temperature, it was 39.8 .. thats when mom really panicked so she asked me to assist her and we would take dad to the doctor for a check up so they could prescribe the right medication... it was 2:00pm on a Sunday , doctors clinic were rare during this day.. we were able to round 4 clinics, all were closed. when suddenly dad started vomiting, it made mom shake with worry so i told her that we just take dad to the hospital, which she readily agreed. so we travelled 10 kilometers more until we reached the hospital.. it was already 5:00 pm. Nurses took his temperature and it still read 39.8 they started getting his vitals and injecting the usual dextrose + injected medicine for his fever. The ER doctor advised us that dad needs to be observe and we had to admit him.. after filling up the forms i got him a room i asked mom to go home that night coz she had to check on sister and the baby + my daughter + my 86 years old lola (you see mom is a caregiver for all her grandchildren and her mom as well). so there i was left alone to check on dad and that's when our battle started.
